Earendil Cattery
Working Cats

Scott and I have had great pleasure in training British Shorthairs to work in the entertainment industry.  We owned and trained the Doberman "Lads" from the Magnum P.I. series.  We also owned and trained the original Fancy Feast Cat, SH III with a back up named "Maybe."  "Shithead" passed away in 1997 at the age of 20.  "Maybe" continues on.  Thora and an assistant Mil trained and worked the original "Spot," Data's cat in Star Trek TNG, a ruddy Somali named "Liberty."  "Liberty" even has his own trading card.

Scott started doing the Friskies commercials many years before.  Remember the whole line of cats? One would nudge the other to the next food bowl.  While Scott and I traveled with SH III doing cat shows, Scott formed the first Friskies Cat Team, consisting of Liberty, Nitro, Monty and Woody.    We then started traveling with the whole mob to many CFA cat shows across the country.  In 1996, we parted company with Friskies and we have continued to do numerous other projects including the Friskies Dental Care with our Brown Tabby British.

The following Brits have also worked for us:

  • Lochridge Davy----Lochridge Dynamite (movie: Beaches)
  • Lochridge Davy---Lochridge Dynamite---GC Bemy Yankee Doodle Dandy "Monty" (movie: PET SEMATARY)
  • Lochridge Jabba The Hut--- (movie: PET SEMATARY)
  • Lochridge Jabba The Hut----GC Bemy Yankee Doodle Dandy (movie: DARK MAN)
Jabba and Monty continued on to do other t.v. movies and commercials.  Jabba was the only cat that could walk in and do a job without any pretraining.

THANK YOU TO THE FOLLOWING BREEDERS:

  • Art Lochridge

One of the lads, "Brutus", developed Wobblers Syndrome which affects some dobermans.  Surgery was performed on his neck and steel bars were inserted to stabilize his spine.  After the surgery had healed, he was still experiencing some pain.  I contacted a well-known animal psychic, Samantha Khury, who started working on Brutus. The pain started diminishing.  Samantha suggested that we do accupuncture and she recommended.  Ginger did the acupuncture with the guidance of Samantha as to where the needles should go. The relief of Brutus's pain was immediate.  Ginger and Sam accomplished what the vets and drugs could not.  I gave Ginger a lot of credit for doing this, as she was deathly afraid of '"Brutus" at the beginning.
